*UPDATE Below*

Hey folks,

Working on gridding a road median in Alexandria. Mix of trash, lots of parts/fragments from car accidents but a few keepers. Need a little help with buckle ID (history of the area goes back to CIvil War times).

Hope you enjoy.

1909 IH penny, a hand full of wheaties, mercy and a worn out silver quarter. US WW2 military button.

I’m curious about the age of these two buckles, especially the rectangular one. It “looks” like an old designs but I’m not sure and my buckle guide book runs through 1800.

The buckle actually came apart as I was digging it out, but you can tell where the pieces went. Not sure if the two tongues actually served a purposes as I don’t think they moved around the base, which appears to have a hook attached to the back, thoughts?

UPDATE: under further inspection and some tooth picking there appears to be a stamp on the back of the buckle. I can make out “ROYAL M....” and “1843” stamped below. Maybe someone is familiar with these markings?

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

You did well in that trash strewn median. I congratulate you on your finds and the patience it must of took to pull these keepers. Keep up the good work and WTG!

Until a member pipes in - I pulled these from other TN threads...

VPNAVY thank you for the photos and the links!

Good work! I've yet to find a 1909 Indian. Of course, out here I'd be hoping for a 1909-S. Way to go!
