hunting rings

I washnt to hunt jewerly and or rings...gold... in new orleans parks... I have a mine lab 705 with a stock coil and a coiltek 6in coinshooter... can i use one of these or should i get the coil made for gold? Found civil war bullets in city park... came up a 30 on my 705. Thanks

The stock coil will do fine. The high freq coil is more for prospecting in goldfields. The high freq is more susceptible to iron falsing than MF or LF coils. The biggest factor is hunting places where rings are a most likely to be lost. I've never found any in our local parks, but have found a couple close to and in shallow water swimming holes.

Both your coils will work fine. Use the small one if it's junky, the bigger one if it isn't.
