Went back to Seal Beach, CA, today. Unlike yesterday when the HUGE swell and 12 foot plus waves first hit and only smoothed out the sand. Today on the north side of the pier had some major erosion in a small area next to the pier.
I used my ATX for 2.5 hours starting at 4:30AM all along the area of erosion. The media trucks were in the parking lot shinning powerful lights out onto to sand, so it was almost like day light out on the sand.
Even with 2-3 feet of erosion in a relatively small area, I had to scoop very deep for most coins. I thought for sure there would have been rings or jewelry of some sort along with coins. That skill necklace was half visible and must have been lost recently.
So I managed to get this morning:
1956 Quarter
1941 & 1942 Mercury
1964 Roosevelt
And Five Wheats which I cleaned just enough to see the wheat on the back.
All Zinc pennies I found were totally wasted and I tossed them prior to taking photos.
Thanks for looking - HH
