Very cool. I have found barber dimes, IH's and Buffalo nickles, but not even one darn silver quarter. Its now at the top of my list.

Congrats on the first silver! It's an awesome feeling! Good luck with the site!

Good job on the silver :thumbsup:I just got my first one 3 days ago, same year, but a Franklin half dollar. It's a great feeling to get the first. Keep hunting, bet there's more there.

Good going. The IH's are out there, you just have to find them. Here are two things I think might help. 1. If you work an old park site, don't forget the edges of the parking areas. 2. If you find an older picnic area (old pull-tabs, soda bottle bottle caps, etc.) take the time to clean out the trash. You'll be surprized at what will be underneath. You might find some silver before the IH's. Good luck.

Oh I found lots of old bottle tops and the old pull tabs. Ironically I only found 3 of the newer flip tabs. Most were the older ring type pull tabs. This park has a pond that people swim in and such. It is full of junk but I keep pulling it out because I know right across the street is a house that was built in 1744 so the potential is there for something really good. (I know the owners and they gave me permission to hunt their property, but I want to wait for warmer weather. They told me it has been hunted before but we all know how that goes.)

Anyway, they now charge to visit this park during better weather so I figured that I would hit now. I had some more good signals but the ground was just too frozen to get my digger in.

Thanks everyone for the kind words too!!! :)

They are charging people to go to a park?!?! What is wrong with that picture?

"Kids, if you don't have money to play on grass, go back home and baste in front of your tv and play video games all day!"

Wow.

BTW- Nice finds!

Yes and it is not a state park. My guess is that they want to keep people who do not live in town out. It doesn't really work though. I don't think they get a lot of money from it but since I do not visit there during the summer I really wouldn't know.

I thought my taxes would cover the visit...5 dollars each visit by the way...but it doesn't.

So as I said, detecting is in the off season or when it is dark. At least I can detect there with out a hassle.

Yay, congratulations on your first silver! That is awesome, it will come much easier now that you have found some! ;D

Keep @ it and HH!! :D
