Problem with identifying bullets is we don't have the measurements. I know you have a penny for reference but I can't judge a bullet that way. I hope someone else can chime in and help.

Sorry for that, I'm a beginner. I will get the measurements asap.

Extremely cool. Especially the one in wood. Definitely confederate but I agree with previous poster

Your bullets are fairly modern. None shown are civil war era.

Please let me know if I'm doing this correctly because I'm not sure how to measure the "fired" ones

Here is the bigger one(right) from the first pic

Looks like you found someones target practice site. The bottom one is a wad cutter and I have seen to lead backed full metal jacket round but I can't remember what it is. definitely modern though. Sorry

Thanks, this was my first time MD'ing in that area. Guess I'll stick where I found these.

Big one looks like a .45 ACP, smaller looks like a .38 FMJ , other is a wad cutter as mentioned, all modern bullets. Bullets are among the most common junk we find, there are millions of them in the ground. Probably 3-5,000 in the woods behind my old residence where my friends and I target shot for years. Many were from muzzle loaders as we shot a lot of black powder as well as modern calibers.
