While on a trip to California recently, my friend, his wife, and I
were visiting the redwoods when I heard a voice that sounded
very familiar. I turned around and found Jimmy Sierra standing
right behind me.
Being the shy person I am, I said hello, shook his hand, began
to ask him all kind of detecting questions, and, of course, asked
for a photo.

By the way, He is a VERY nice guy and also humble.

I would have asked him, "So, Normandi, how is Ken White at White's?" :D

Kirk

That was a nice surprise. :o

He's one of the original treasure hunters, and reading his stories 20+ years ago is
one of the reasons I got into this hobby.

I watched a show about the "Goat Doctor" cache he found, and just read recently
that it was stolen from him, and that really ticked me off, because first, I hate thieves, and second, because he seems like such a nice person.

I am jealous, congrats on being in the right place at the right time.
He does have a very recognizable voice. I have heard it before watching
Treasure Hunting America.

Ty,
Very cool. I take it by that shirt you were in the redwood forest in the Santa Cruz Mountains. I used to live about 20 minutes from there near San Jose.
Those redwoods are HUGE!!!
Great experience you had there.

P.S. Did detect in Santa Cruz?

Yes I did detect the beaches at Santa Cruz. I used to live
in Monterey, too many years ago,. That is a beautiful
area. I took my wife and daughter back to Santa Cruz a
couple weeks later and got to detect every morning for a
week.

Really cool to meet him I bet....I wonder after all this time if he gets tired of the questions he gets asked. Pro'ly not. I would have liked to talk to him for a while...

Keep safe...

I wasn't gong to ask him any "business" questions, but HE encouraged
me to go ahead. Great guy!

I've ordered from him several times. He is fast with his shipping. He looks like a nice guy.....glad you got to meet him.
