Here is what they looked like together. (One version)
I found this round ball where some dirt has been being washed away anyone tell me anything about it please...
Hi everyone I'm Robert Audirsch I'm new here but I have a thing for neat and unusual things that you don't see everyday and I came across this round sphere shaped object it was actually in a friend of mines yard where the rain has been washing away the dirt for several years now but it to me looks like some kind of piece of weaponry and as far as size goes I laid it on a tape measure and it's a 1/2 in. Widei would really like to know more about it and if it would be worth me having it checked out also where where I would go to have it checked out I live near Shreveport LouisianaI moved ya from NEW MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS over to WHAT IS IT? for more exposure.![]()

The ball itself is approximately 2 in in diameter and approximately and is approximately half inch heightI guess an accurate measurement of the size may show its origins?
QF 2-pounder (QF denoting "quick firing"), or simply "2 pounder gun", was a 40 mm (1.575 in) British anti-tank gun and vehicle-mounted gun employed in the Second World War.

It was laying on the ground where dirt has been washing away for years and it looked just like it does in the picture and I found it in a friends yard between two trees on a hill and I found it in Princeton Louisiana and there is actually an historical cemetery around the corner from here so would there be a collectors market for this stuff where would i get it checked outGive the weight and what state it was found in. You would not find a Rev War cannon shot in Wyoming, but you might find an Indian Wars one there.

The measurements don't match. I think the first post has a typo --that ball is not 2 in diameter, it's a bit over a half inch. So it doesn't match the grape shot. It looks more like some kind of bearing or something to me.Hi,
With this measurement it would show that it is a Grape Shot from a 12 pounder

When and in what have you ever seen an iron bearingThe measurements don't match. I think the first post has a typo --that ball is not 2 in diameter, it's a bit over a half inch. So it doesn't match the grape shot. It looks more like some kind of bearing or something to me.
