I found this when I was camping near niagra fort on Lake Ontario.

One day when i was camping, my brother was walking in the water and then tripped on something hard. He picked up this metal shaped object. He told me if you want it you can have it. I am not sure what this is but I think it has to do with something from the war of 1812 and maybe even from a shipwreck. If you can tell me what this is that would be great. Thanks.

My first reaction was as collar joint for an iron pipe. As others has suggested, more info would help.
