I was looking through relics today, I cleaned (some) of the truck out and went to the store, and had a happy nap and am now sorting and cleaning relics found since Christmas. This is from a 17th century site, still in use today. It is a hammered thingamajig, looks like some sort of Rose Farthing, but it is still dirty and I don't want to touch it as of yet. But the evening is still early. Another hammered! I think that's like #6 in the last 2 years. Two Elizabeth II shillings, 1 James I Rose Farthing, 1 Phillip II of Spain dog food Maravedis, 1 other Maravedis 167- something, forget the ruler, and a week ago the hammered silver German 14th century dog food item. Not including two Spanish cobs, a 1 reale and and 8 from the ocean beach. The fun has started! Two years ago I found two Spanish maravedis and two Roman coins in Jersey. And just in case you wondered, the sites are about 200 miles apart.

But what? Ideas please?

Thanks. There is a rose on one side, I learned that from my other coin, and crossed arrows? and maybe a tiny crown? on the other side. I have my Andre's pencils standing by but haven't touched it at this time.

I've been looking on the net. Charles I?

Thanks colonial78. I'm going to take a very deep breath, do a couple things, then get out the Andre's pencils and see if I can wipe off some of the dirt and not the coin design! IT IS a coin.

Yes, that is correct. Hey! I changed cameras. I think this is much better. IMG_1481.webpIMG_1482.webp BTW yours is nicer! Man, it almost looks like the exact same coin. Neat.

Colonial78, I am convinced you nailed it as Charles I. Thanks. My Deus will find these tiny things. Yesterday it came up with a piece of Civil War camp lead 1/8" across!
