Got out yesterday it was 12 degrees when I left the house but I knew the ground wasn’t frozen and there were areas I wanted to hit since this winters snow had packed down some underbrush that in the summer is not hittable. I ended up having one of my best days in a while. It was definitely a good relic hunt with a couple of really good conditioned coppers to boot. I really do not know how the merc got mixed in but I’ll take it. And a pretty cool buckle the style of which is a first for me. Good luck to everyone through this tuff period of time.

Very nice! I spied a Draped Bust in there, what year is it? Congrats on a fine day at a great spot, Ddf.

Super hunt ! .. Congrats :icon_thumleft:
I had the same idea as you on Sunday regarding those spots with the packed underbrush. The ground was still a bit harder than I expected, but I did manage a couple nice keepers. First hunt of the year here in Maine,,,Come on Spring!! :occasion14:

The 1819 looks smaller than the other LC. Did they reduce the size somewhere along the way? Gary

Wow great day with some really nice large cents... 3 on a 12 degree day you are killing it but I think the find of the day is the buckle. I think that's called a batwing and they are easy to date. Probably 1700's which would have me stoked!!!

thanks for the info on the buckle, I do not know much about them but will research some more

I checked the sizes they are all the same, but I agree that in that pic it looks smaller! probably the angle or my bad camera skills

So, 1819, 1831, and an earlier L.C. from the 1800 or maybe late 1790s.
