I've been CRHing for about 2 years now. Plenty of Bens, 64's, and pre 1970's, but never a walker. I just told myself that walkers must be uncommon in my area. Anyway I have skunked for the last 3 weeks in a row. Lame! Anyway today I just picked up one box of NF String & Son halves. (I rarely have the cash to pick up more than 5 boxes) No Enders, and lots of bicentennials gave me a bad feeling. I figured, oh well another skunk. The third roll I unwrapped showed me two white rims. The kind of rims where you know they are 90% without a doubt. (love that feeling) I plucked em out and low and behold:

1-1963 Ben
1-1942 Walker

To the big timers this is nothing, but it proves they're out there and it motivated me to hit the boxes hard next week.

I got lucky and found my first (and only) Walker on my 12th box I believe. It was my first 90%er.

It seems that in some parts of the Country it is hard to get Walkers. Maybe in the Northeast where the population is large there are just more floating around.
I amazed that every once in a while people will get silver dollars at a bank. Even as a kid I never had nor saw one. I've heard though that they were used in the casinos out west in the slots until the 60's.

Don't know what part of country you is in but here in TN I get a few Walkers a month on average, once got 7 in one Box.

18 boxes, 1 Walker. Yeah, I have only been on the boxes since Jan.

congrats. once got 4 bunched up in one roll looked so sexy... weird how i enjoy coins so much...

I remember my first two Walkers, one was almost smooth and the other had cuts all the way around it, like someone hit it with a hammer and a chisel. Keep at it, this one is only the first of many.

I remember my first Walker, took about 6 months. I was hoopin it up and hollarin- awesome rush. Anyways then I went outside to smellibrate and all the neighbors were out wondering what was going on- and we have 1 acre lots in my neighborhood. Congrats, Mark
