I woke up this morning to a lake in my front yard, almost didn't bother leaving the house. Caught a break in the rain around noon and decided to find some place to go. Started on a new local permission that's rather large but still might have a few goodies left over from the war. After nearly an hour here came the rain again, so I checked the radar and just started driving toward a clear spot. Tried a couple of parks since they were empty, but wasn't in the mood to dig in the mud for deep pop tops and clad hoping for a ring. So I kept driving till I passed a spot that looked pretty good so I thought I'd turn around at the next safe place. Little did I know it was an old community building, so I decided to just hop out and give it a quick test swing before going back to the other place. No more than did I turn my machine on I get a bangin' hit. First target was a president dollar, so I knew there had to be more. After a few dimes and finding an 18KT HGE diamond (?) ring, I found a nice sterling ring. After a bit more aimless wondering about and ignoring a few targets I now know I shouldn't have I hit on what sounded like either a change spill or a pile of bottle caps. As usual the only way to find out for sure was to get down in the mud and dig. The next thing I knew I had 5 Oklahoma tax tokens and my first ever skeleton key:hello2:. So I back tracked a bit and found the old multi piece button (looks burnt) and then it started pouring down rain again. Oh well I was a little ways from home and happy for the strong finish. Just what I needed, a hunt with more than just one or two keepers. I'm starting g to like my new 705.

The 18K HGE won't be a real diamond. Unfortunately HGE stands for Heavy Gold Electroplate. Not enough gold at all to make it worth anything. Looks like you found some older promising sites though. At least you have rain and not 8" of stinking fluffy white junk and frozen ground!

Valuable or not it's still a +2 to my ring count.
Here are the hallmarks.

You had a great hunt, congratulations! Love the tokens and large key! :occasion14:

That is a very successful hunt Love the key that is really cool rings tokens wow Ill take that any day Thanks for the post!!!!!

I sure wasn't trying to take away the fact that you found it. I only answered the way I did because you put a ? mark after diamond. I just wanted to assure you it would not be a diamond.

It's all good, I put the (?) so as not to say it's legit, but questionable until proven one way or the other.

After some cleaning and mineral oil I can read PRYM Patented on the back of the big button.

Those tax tokens are always welcome in my token book, and congrats on your first skeleton key.
