This is not my find but a husband and wife I have been helping get started in metal detecting. On one of my Facebook sites I seen a posting where a couple were looking for someone to help them. I sent them a email explaining i would try and help them. There names were Janet and Sam. Sam had bought a metal detector off of Amazon for 130 dollars , I took them out and explained a few things they should start doing. They purchased a Pinpointer Then Janet wanted to detect and I sold her one of my Simplexs and a Pinpointers, Last week this couple are the same ones that found the exact same token i found about the same time.I posted a link about it on here.. Someone Sam knew had quit detecting and gave him a old Whites Prizm detector, I showed Sam how to use it and they became addicted. Yesterday this couple went to fair grounds near us. The went there yesterday and found what is in the picture here .OVER 11 dollars in change and a few other items.

It’s great to see early success. That often makes enough spark to keep the hobby going for folks. It’s like catching a few nice fish the first time out; you’re more likely to keep on fishing.

You are a good man, Gary. Those folks are probably in seventh heaven! Nice post!
Thanks Creskol you are one of my Heros here on Treasurenet :) A lot of problems can be corrected if you swing a coil correct

Congrats to your friends on their finds:icon_thumright:

it looks like they have gotten a great start and have learned well.

good times

Very nice of you to show them the way Gary. That is a nice batch of coins.

I would really like to Detect the Fairgrounds, but...not allowed in Grants Pass, OR. Good for them, life will never be the same. They have been bitten by the Detector bug. Welcome to them.
