I just found 70 pennies with the same die crack error!

Today i picked up 5 dollars in pennies. After opening the first roll i found 7 pennies with the same die crack error.




I posted that find in the CRH forum to see if finds like that were unusual.

I never really got a clear answer but was encouraged to try and use the pennies to show the die crack progress.

so, After opening the other 9 rolls i wound up with 70 pennies displaying the exact same die crack!



With so many coins of like errors i should be able to show a pretty good die crack progress

So this is my find for the day

I was thinking of going back to the bank tomorrow. The bank is small and i know the teller very well. When i first posted, i had no idea i would find 70. Every single role had them.

Thanks everyone! Now, what do i do with them? I am pretty new to coin roll hunting so this might be something that roll hunters see a lot of. If it is, do they hang on to the error coins, split them up, sell them as a lot or just release them back into the wild?

I know the error in and of itself is pretty much worthless but several of the same errors might be worth a penny or two.

Many 95-96 p halves have a crack coming off Kennedy's neck at the bottom of the bust. I have so many in good shape I stopped collecting them and
even dumped some. I assume that there being so many out there they would be worthless. If there were buyers I'd be in business lol.

Congratulation on those Die Cracks, usually you might find one (1 ) my last was on a 2009 Lincoln cent, goldnugget I did find ( 3 ) 2019 Point Quarters in ( 1 ) roll yesterday.

Very soon after I found this error I listed a pair of them on eBay for 10 bucks plus shipping cost. The pennies sold for my asking price. Every now and then I look to see if anyone has found the same error and listed it. So far I have not seen any pop up.
