I just got my Ace 250.

I just got it out of the box. Its raining pretty hard, so I think I'll wait until the morning to take it outside. My first target it a mill store built in 1903, theres a field between the mill and the store. I figure that a great place to find some missing coins.

I think you are really gonna enjoy your ace 250. I am still getting use to mine, here is the link to a experiment that I did, beacuse I was having trouble with the pinpoint mode.

I believe I read here that you should run the 1st 12" or so of the cable straight-up the stem, and not wrapped around it. If that's incorrect, someone please correct me. That's how I did mine.

I also did the same to my Ace 250 and it stopped the erratic false signals.

Most metal detector coils detect above as well as beneath the
coil and this probably contributes to a lot of the " false " signals.
Things like worn jewelry , metal buckles on knee pads, digging tools and coil cables , or sweeping under metal objects can make the detector react as if there is something under the coil.
