Ok, been a while, but I have been to a spot close to me here in Missouri, where I thought a trading post from the mid 1800's sat. I have found numerous items, but never anything with a date other then a coin. An Indian head dated 18...something couldn't see the last two numbers. Then I found this, which loks to be a ladies buckle of some sort or maybe a suspender clasp? Look at the date of patent on the back! Sept. 2nd 1856.....man my heart jumped! I knew I was right and now I know of another area within a couple hundred yards where boats came up and parked....oh oh. look out...here I come!
