I LOVE my BH Tracker IV, Gold, Silver & Jewelry, ring #'s 5,6,7 & 8
I've been having some doubts about my BH Tracker IV but today those doubts are officially put to rest. This is probably the most under rated metal detector out there.
I went to an old lakefront beach and had the best day ever since buying this machine.
I found:
1 14k mans large wedding band, yellow and white gold/two tone
1 ladies silver ring with 3 cubic zirconium stones (I thought they were diamonds at first, it's beautiful regardless and it's still silver)
2 costume jewelry rings that are in pretty rough shape, one made of copper and gold plated
4 silver quarters, 1941, 1943, 1950 D and 1957
1 badly corroded wheat penny with no readable date
an antique, boy scout style belt buckle with a nautical theme (sailboat in the center and 4 anchors; one in each corner)
******UPDATE ON THE Buckle:*******
I realized I have a very old bronze(?) swimsuit buckle after reading about a similar find on this site. This is yet another reason why I love this site. I always learn something and it sometimes enables me to really "see" what I had been looking at all along. Thank you Treasurenet.com members!!
********************************
1 pristine .22 slug and 1 .22 shell nearby (I just thought that was strange so I kept both)
and, about 4 bucks in clad after trashing the zinc pennies
I've recently been having some doubts about the Tracker IV and silver hunting but I now know without a doubt that for what it is, it's very capable.
I also attempted to find a guy's wedding ring who lost it in the water playing volleyball but it was just too deep for my machine. I gave him some advice on what he can do to find it. With the right equipment he has a pretty good shot. The poor guy got married less than a month ago.
What a day. I found all of the above in under four hours and the gold and silver in less than one hour. It was just too perfect.
I love this hobby. How can anyone not love digging gold, silver and assorted money and stuff from the ground??
