I need advice on Indian baskets

My grandmother spent many years collecting Indian baskets and other artifacts. she recently passed and my family is trying to decided what to do with the collection. I feel it would be best to contact an expert to catalog and appraise the collection before a decision is made, but I am not sure where start. any recommendations on persons or companies whith a good reputation among collectors would be helpful.

not sure where you live, but the Native American museum attached to Sutter's Fort in Sacramento has a collection of woven baskets and hats. I'm sure if you call them the curators may have some advice or could refer you to helpful books and resources.

thanks, I will look them up. I am in california, but still about 7 hours from sacramento, but I may try to give them a call.
