Can anyone come to Minerva Ohio and help me hunt this place. Also what do you think this area was ? Open for ideas

If someone was close to me I would let them hunt with me. I was kind of hoping someone could tell me what kind of foundations this is. There quite a few stone structures. I believe a lot of those cut large stones were part of our lock system. Thinking it was built after 1829
Anyone have any ideas.

I will go back over there and get some drone pictures

Just thinking out loud, the larger quarry stone column might suggest a doorway or other load bearing structure as opposed to the smaller stone. As you suggest this structure could be from a lock. But, it also might be from that other man made structure popular with water and gravity- a water mill.

Gare who owned the property back then? Have you looked it up on a historic map? The ones in the 1870's or earlier?
