Ok, I hope I got this right (adding an image).

I found this in Northern Indiana...not at a lake...inland. I've shared it with our center for history and they haven't a clue, well that's not entirely true as the gal *thought* it *might* be a lead paint stirrer. I'm not feeling that...but what do I know?

I'm referring to the phallic symbol thang...not the rock with the round metal piece (but I do find that one intriguing!)

So...what IS it?

It could be many things, a hide tool for removing a critters hide, dehairing it, and working the fat from off the inside of the hide, or a tool for breaking open nuts, and it could be a pestle. Those are three things that come right to my mind, I'm sure their are others.

Is it broken on the larger end of the piece? It could possibly be half of a Ceremonial Pick.

Dang!!! He beat me to it!!! Thats what I think too!! If the end is broken off though, it could be a busted Celt. I find lots of em here in the Caddoan area! Cool find.

YES! It appears to be broken at the larger end. When I get home from work I'll share better photos!!!

I SO appreciate the input and comments. This is such a wonderful, sharing community!
