I really Need HELP!!

Went out early this morning and hunted a school that sits just below the tree line on the southern mountains of our little valley. Got a nice strong signal at 5" and dug a little piece of what appears to be pewter. It was in brown clay and the area immediately around the item was discolored with a powder of the same color as the item...........



I've done numerous searches:

Crown and Anchor coins/tokens. I don't believe it is either because there is nothing on the reverse.
Crown and Anchor seals, Crown and Anchor buttons, Revolutionary War and War of 1812 buttons.
I did find one design that was close.........a blazer button from Cork, but there was a rope around that anchor.

Any help with ID would be appreciated. Thanks to all.

That part of your State saw a lot of action in the Seven Years War, French & Indian War. Thousands of British soldiers from different units pounded through there on their way battle the French Catholics to the North. I would bark up that tree for a while, and see if anything growls. Great Find!

This is an excellent find! Bring it to a museum for testing. take lots of pictures and get yourself a chain of custody form and protect the artifact.

Very likely, Cru.......but, it does not have the high convex profile as the one that is from Cork.
