I remember when.......

rotary phones were in vogue

Penny candy was a penny :tongue3:

Gay meant happy :blob10: :blob3: :blob5:

And more recently
The first cell phones were the size of walkie talkies with a backpack sized battery. :laughing7:

Feel free to add to the list.

I remember when parents were responsible for their children & everyone didn't expect the government to raise them.

I Remember the Best Video Game Ever made was in the Malls.

I Always had to stop & Play

Yes it was a Very Exciting Game !!!!!

Of course I Remember when there were no Malls.

We wen't shopping downtown.
Even for Shoes.
The proprietor Measured your Foot
& Brought you shoes to try on.

Then We'd go to the 5&10 & sit at the counter
for a Cherry Coke Or Ice Cream soda.

Sometimes we'd go to the movie Theater
& Pay $1.00 to watch the Matinee Before Going home.

I Remember the Steel Pier in atlantic city.

The Family Vacation was always down there.

We would always Stay at the Kentuckey Hotel.

Even though I Was only in my early Teens I'd walk
the Boardwalk, Go on the pier, Watch a rock Band or Whoever was there. See the Diving Horse, Ride the Diving Bell,
although the water was always too muddy to see anything :tongue3:

Take in a Movie, enjoy the Stars of Tomorrow Show,
I Don't remember the host.

Take a Jitney ride, And
Would walk the streets & Boardwalk till 2 - 3 in the Morning.

Always find someone to hang out with
who Knew What was going on where.

i remember the gas wars when i was about 16, that was a while ago Ha!HA! 15 cents a gallon on one corner, across the street 17 cents a gallon.Oh yes you took the lowest one back then too.You got a big candybar for a nickel,a soda for 6 cents.oh so much has changed, change is good sometimes but wish gas and groceries would go back down some. :laughing7:

I remember playing the Pin-ball machines, 5 cents a game and it was something
like 6 or 7 games for a quarter. They were lots of fun. :laughing7:

I remember laughing at my Dad because the barber had to trim the hair out of his ears. That crap ain't funny no more :cussing:

I remember before I was married when my wife would actually give me a little

kiss on the cheek before bed every evening. ;D

Baby Ruth candy bars were 5 cents...
A can of Shasta soda pop was 10 cents...
Your local town newspaper was a dime...
The dimes and quarters in your pocket change were silver...
Everybody spoke English...
I could catch a double feature movie with cartoons at the theater on Saturday afternoon for 50 cents...

I remember when you actually had to get up and walk to the TV to turn the channel. Or maybe that was just my dad using me as a remote when he lost it somewhere in the house. :laughing7:

I also remember when you had to go to the music shop to buy a stylus for your record player.

I remember sitting on a small plank of wood balanced on the barbers chair to get my hair cut, I remember my first ride in an Amerirican car(big white thing with great big tail wings) I remember the moon landings, unfortunately I am young enough to remember 1969. But most of all, I remember being safe and secure knowing my family loved me, not something everyone had, boy were they wrong :tongue3:

We didn't have the TV, and didn't have the electric. We listened to the radio a lot though. I remember when we had the outhouse, and those stories about treks out to it in the dead of winter have to be myths, because anybody with any sense had 'chamber pots' in the house. (1 gallon lard buckets, in our case.) I remember when pretty much all the women chewed tobacco or dipped Garrett's Sweet Snuff, and there was hell to pay if you knocked over Grandma's spit can. I remember gatherin the eggs in the mornin before school and sometimes there would be a rat snake in the nest. I remember choppin cotton for 75 cents an hour and pulling bolls for 2 cents a pound (3 cents a pound if you picked it). And thanks to her lawyer, I remember the ex-wife real good sometimes.
