I was out with the TDI again, an hour or so till dark.. too hot before then. This was pretty deep, around 15 inches or so. The soil being so sun baked I almost gave up!

It's hard to tell in the picture but one side looks like melted/burned brass but it is still "crusty" Size, shape and weight are good.. so I'm going to soak it and start picking at it. Live, I swear I see what looks like the bottom of an 'S" but I think that might be wishful thinking.

The picture sucks but I'm too tired to pull out the good camera and setup the macro lens and light.. so this is just a quick shot with macro on a little nikon 8700.

As loud and clear as this rang, I have little doubt that a TDI can pull a plate at 20" to 24". This was as loud and strong as a signal of a bullet at 8 inches, just rang strong all 360 degrees!!

MB

PS.. and NO I'm not counting this as a plate unless I can get more then melted lead and brass out of it...
