I think I found GOLD.
I got out today and hunted an old area and about 8 inches deep I hit this beauty.
It wiped clean but could not read it in the field.
I got home and cleaned it off with soap and it shined up really nice.
No marking on the inside but I tested it and the 10K did not melt away. The 14K did but it took awhile as did the 18K.
The test plate is left to right 10K, 14K, and 18K.
I am assuming this is a solid 10K but possibly 14K.
It is a DEMOLAY ring. Does anyone know about this group and how old this ring is? 1793821F-29F0-48AF-B745-AF047D57CD7F.webp5B353F88-999B-4DAF-B6D3-A40F40A87666.webpDC6F1B93-8ED5-4039-8B77-91B6C472BFF1.webp48F0A379-2FDA-41FD-9265-DA5B4D072630.webp7E1CFC9C-C60B-416F-9E19-6EE055CEBCF5.webpB01157F5-396B-4650-A1A3-1E9DB52D78E4.webp7D59A27E-77DC-48F6-9412-AC4144A3DB96.webp

it's a fraternal order ring of the Knights Templar. The legend on the sword reads De Mo Lay and refers to Jacques de Molay https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacques_de_Molay Based on style, I would imagine the ring likely dates from the 1940's to the 50's

Looks like gold to me too.
Nice find!:occasion14:

I think it's higher than 10k. If it didn't completely dissolve the scratch's you go higher until you can't see the scratch test so if 18k still left streaks go to 22k.

Awesome!!! Congrats!!!

Very nice ring.

Great looking gold ring, congrats on the recovery.
