Frick'n cold today, with a windchill of -21°C / -5°F. I bundled up with my down filled parka, my camera and ACE 400. I had no intention of detecting for coins, however was prepared to detect birds. When it gets this cold, they will eat out of your hand, as the food is scarce with the snow.

If the bird had been banded, I probably would have gotten an electronic "BEEP" out of it, but, it remained quiet!

Finally, A bird checking out what that yellow box is all about!

That's awesome John!!

But even THEY have abandoned our area!! Nothing but snow as far as the truck can drive! ...And am having snow plow troubles now. ARG!!

Awesome - I've only gotten hummingbirds to do that for me and I wasn't metal detecting at the time either!
