I was bored and took a ride to the desert...Found away to beat the Heat...

Started the day Metal Detecting, ended the day with a sluice and a frosty beverage...

It was to freaking hot, after walking around for an hour and digging up bullet after bullet I had a brain storm. Went back to my truck and grabbed to 5 gallon buckets. Dug up some dirt and went home. I took a sump pump and piped it in with a hose then laid out my sluice.



Hope to finish up tomorrow and post some pics of some little pickers. I already see some color in the V mat....

We are too pampered nowadays. Think of the old timers who lived and mined out in the desert year round? No refrigeration, no frosty beverages. Life must have been really difficult, but they found all the good gold.

Update us on what you find. I've thought about doing the same, but the rivers/streams are still running so no need to go out to the desert.
