Hey G, Do the holes go through the piece, and if so, are they clogged with dirt? You might want to use an ice pick to see, and after cleaning it a bit, post another pic showing the holes. Breezie

G, it looks like the 2 holes are perhaps where a bar pin was attached. It has the look of some type of jewelry(maybe a cloak clasp, fur clip or a cousin of one) instead of a 'work' item. Is it made of brass; if not, what? Breezie
