Detector(s) used
deus xp v2.0,cscope 1220xd,yukon compass 77b(automatic and no automatic)nautilus IIB,teknetics mark I
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
the program used in air was wet sand
I tested 40 gold ring little and bigger,10K-14K,and too one pull tab some silver coins and rings and beer crown cap(victoria-mmmmmm:laughing7:

gold
52,61,55,44,47,61,56,58,68,43,31,59,55,43,44,43,50,46,46,55,56,55,58,49,40,56,47,50,47,50,47,32,43,55,50,55,61,55,73,55,50,56,47
pull tab 68-71
crown cap bounce 88-92 and the id sound is clear for this items
silver the id sound is beatifull and lectures were,70,75,80,95,94,76,85,76,92,93
observations
the id crown cap of 92= id 92 of one silver ring but its sound of high tone is clear (narrow pitch) ,for the crown cap is high tone but soft

Have you tried putting several rings on small plastic or wood discs with a string marked in inches through the middle ? Follow the tide out and sink the ring into the liquid sand. As the sand hardens (doesn't take long) pull the string up slight until the ring is at the right depth which in turn levels the ring to the sands surface giving the best depth performance you can expect. Then check depth and the meter reading.
Suprising how deep (or often not) some detectors can manage.

Great post! If you guys want gold the cold hard facts are you have to dig anything from foil to zinc penny range. If it makes a beep... dig it.

That is the truth. There's no other way to get the gold. You gotta dig lots of trash. But if it was any easier, everybody would do it and there wouldn't be anything left for us. I kind of like the challenge of it.

If you want really deep gold with the Deus, 12" plus you are doing to dig any kind of conductive signal you get. It will more than likely come in with a good high tone and every time we detected it, the TID was...............98 or 99 and repeatable. Did not wrap around into the ferrous side. My point is you are missing stuff, good stuff, if you are not digging it all. Be very aware of this and don't dismiss it, the high TID numbers. Out of the ground TID's with this machine are definately different.

It is true
