If you're as dumb as....

ME..this might help you. I'm kinda new around here so I don't know if it's been mentioned already. When researching thru a web page for info, I would scroll down the whole thing skimming over it, trying to find a word/phrase I was looking for. wasting my time and eyesight. When lo and behold..I went to the edit function..clicked on "find on this page" and a little box appeared allowing me to enter what I was looking for, and search it out. I will now open myself for ridicule in order to help others as dumb a me...or should that be dumb as I?

LOL Honestly I think there are a LOT of people that do not know of that little function until they really need it in a job or something. I used computers for years before I had a job that I had to search lots of information and was told how to do that. I am sure you have helped a lot of people by sharing that information.

I don't know how long that function has been in windows IE. I've been using it since IE v.4, But it may have been around even before that and I never noticed it.

Good tip for those that don't already know.

You can actually hit <ctrl>F and have the function come up without going to your menu if that is helpful to anyone

Advanced search lets you search for specific terms and words etc... within any search criteria. Also if doing a google search, go to the bottom of the first results page and you'll find an option for searching within results.

Firefox has this feature and all you have to do is start typing and it comes up automatically. Also has built in spell check.

Appreciate the info. Now I can spend more time detecting. 8) Now if Microsoft and the detector companies would work together....type in gold coin or <control>G and let the machine do the work.
