Yesterday I was having trouble deciding where to go digging, so I just drove around and stumbled across a park with some huge oaks and thought it looked interesting. Luck was on my side because the first hole I dug gave up an 1895 IH! My first IH too. I didn't get anything else out of this park as my detector was beeping nonstop from all the crap it was hitting. So I'm off to find something new in the NW Burbs of Chicago again today...

Congratulations! That's a good looking IH, good shape! HH Michael

Nice IH, if you go back to that park move very slow over that junk because the silver is waiting for ya...

Very Nice looking Penney. I've been at this for 13 months now and have yet to stumble on to an Indian Head.

Finally , That will be my response too - perhaps with a happy expletive too! ( ten years in and I still haven't found one ). Congrats man !

Congrats, I love that design on the Indian Head Cent.

Time to implement a small search coil if you have one.

Nice looking coin.
When you say finally, I see your a fairly new member how long /many days years have you been at it ?

That amazes /perplexes me, I usually get a couple / few a year...up here ? JKust checked 3 so far this year.

Great first IH! Love those pennies!

Congrats on your 1st! And, a nice one, at that!

Nice finds. Congrats!!!

It took me just over a year to get my first. Congrats on a nice one.:icon_thumright:

Hey, if that's all you found, then you still had a great day in my book!

I've been at this since May/June with my Safari. It's been a huge learning curve just getting used to the machine and learning all the settings, sounds and tones, and recognizing what I just scanned with the machine. I've gone through three different diggers and have modified my forth so I can dig deeper and longer without my hands cramping up. I've probably spent enough on batteries that I should buy stock in Duracell and always have my reachable with me too.

Congrats! I have only dig 2 of them.

Congrats on your first IHC. It is one of my favorite coins. GL&HH!

yeah get a shooter coil, then go slow and dig all repeatable signals over 4" deep. ive dug IHs that came in as pulltab
