Here are pictures of my confederate scripted Infantry button that was recovered on jan 3 2015.The button has nice gilt and lines in the letter I . Cant make out the back mark due to I do not want to damage. This button found 3 inches down next to a briar bush didn't know what it was until I looked at it at home it was very muddy used cotton swabs and diluted lemon juice. vanzutphen

IIIIIIIIII Like it lol. Congrats on the historical find, I wish I lived where there was some civil war and colonial activity, Virginia would be the best for that, I have always wanted to find any military artifacts.

Coinman123,

Sweet button. Looks great for being in the ground all these years. Congratulations!

True piece of American history you have there! As always, very jealous that I am unable to come across items like that living in the cold north! Amazing find!

Beautiful button. I'm sure your still stoked about it. I found my first ever button yesterday and still can't believe it. I pride myself in finding coins, but like the idea of finding ANY historical relic....American or foreign!!

Great looking gilt left on button! It'll make a finds display look really nice.:icon_thumleft:

Wonderful find!

awesome find. I have yet to find my first CS button though I have found two eagle breastplates in CS camps. just unlucky in the button department. Yours had an 'S. Isaac and Campbell' backmark with the address. Virtually all of this type with the fixed shank has this backmark or they are blank. I recognize the wording pattern on yours even though it is eaten up. This was a shell firm set up to import items into the Confederacy. congrats on a nice find. Looks like a water recovery.

That's beauuutiful....congrats.

SUPER FIND. Thanks for sharing.

Is that an I button?????????? Great find congratulations!:hello2:

It has the best look as any I've seen come up...that has been posted that is, never been around when one was recovered :notworthy:

WTG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CongratulatIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIons!

Man, that one is in killer shape! Congrats!

Great looking button.
