I'm in a slump.

Last two weekends have been slow for us. All I found that was worthy last week was a ball button. This week wasn't much better. Found a round ball, some bucky ball, and a peice to a wood stove that's pretty cool. That's the way it goes sometime. Did get a lead on a piece of ground that joins one of the battle fields near us from a friend. 500 acre farm that belongs to his aunt. I'll keep my fingers crossed on a new permission. Will know tomorrow. Hope everyone had some luck. Thanks for looking.

Slumps suck; we all have them and shall have many more. A ~40 mph wind gust or higher knocked me over today in a school yard here in Upstate NY this afternoon. I'm 55 and in shape, but it was humbling. My reward...$0.85 in clad. However, every year metal detecting is a great year.

I always look at slumps this way: the longer I go without a great find, the closer I am to recovering something awesome. I'd been in a bit of a slump since last December but, on Good Friday, recovered my first Spanish silver - a 1 Reale in excellent condition. The odds are now in your favor. Keep swingin'.

Thanks. Haven't heard yet about the 500 acre farm but did secure two other permissions at a very promising place today. Damnails and I needed some new ground so we are excited about these. Plan to try them out Friday. I'll let you know. Thanks guys!!
