found by a spring, kinda iffy, so opinions i gotta ask, looks like clay and has a crack down the back, and one of the front legs are broken off. pretty dang close if u ask me. sorry pics are horrible and is out of my hands at the moment...

Chong2...Several things need answered, it does look like some amorphous animal, having two ears leads one to believe that it was formed by man and not naturally. Found by a spring associates it with a known prehistoric meeting area, any other signs, flint chips, pottery, points at the location? Is the clay same as that at the spring area? Any indents on the clay that might suggest it was molded or carved? These items are a gray area to the average collector, some tend to see these shapes in everything while others fail to notice definitely worked pieces.
For most collectors to believe it must have some evidence of being worked or found in a context with other items of know authenticity. The shape looks good, you just need to find some evidence that it was fashioned by man.

thanks guys, no no indentions that i can tell. no artifacts or evidence of prehistoric cultures at the exact place it was found, however there is a HUGE amount of prehistoric history in the area. very imediate area. ill take it by someone who may know, and maybe someone else, if they say yes, maybe a pay service can help more.

looks like a limestone formation to me, they take on some very wicked shapes. A high percentage of the collections around here that I examine contain them.
