It was found in a field in Northern Illinois that I was detecting yesterday afternoon. In situ pic shows just how it was found, facing straight down. It is pictured with items I had found detecting in a park a few hours earlier. I was glad to find the point, even if it is broken at the base.

Two pieces of paraphernalia, a police badge, and a heartbreaker—interesting combo

Having found only one point in my life, that one wouldn't break my heart at all. She's a beauty!

I would be happy finding that point, even if it is broken!

Definitely a heart breaker and looks like it would have been a really odd shaped point , is it missing a piece on the right side above the square notch or is it made like that ?

That may not be broke...consider a hafted blade!

It was made like that. Almost as if that notch acted as a gut hook on a modern day knife.
