Found a ring at a really old spot. It doesn't have any markings but it rang up as gold and it's pretty heavy. It also cleaned off beautifully. I am thinking that really old gold didn't have markings or maybe the mark wore off. If it really is gold I'm pretty sure the gem is sapphire.

Wow....... killer find. Doubt that it is plated if it has been in the ground any length of time. Looks WAY too good to be a fake from what little I can tell from the pic. Sapphire that size and color could be worth a pretty penny as well. Congrats.
