What's better to put on an 'Tin Back ' Confederate 'I' Button .

As one of my buttons wants to keep getting a powdery green/yellow powder on the 'Face'.

Once I remove the powder what is the best thing to put on it to stop or slow the powder's return .

I've heard Renaissance Wax is good but also heard Vaseline will work also.

What do y'all prefer or use for conservation of buttons like mine?

Once again I was on top of the World and then the next month I was getting humble.
