What a pleasant surprise last night when hubby plopped this on my desk & says "Look what I got back in change today." Like what Nana asked her hubby when he found a marble... "What? When? Why? Where?" ;D ;D "Did you ask the cashier to check her drawers for more?" "No, I didn't." "Why not?" "I don't believe that would had been a very nice thing to say." Men and their thinking... ::) ;D :D

Sounds like you need to send hubby back to the store--how else is he going to learn? ;)

Nice looking find and no detector needed.

I would never ask a clerk to check her drawers; the cash register is another matter entirely ;D.

I can't believe he didn't ask! :D

The oldest coin I've ever got in change was a 1910 wheat penny. I was visiting my Grandmother's and there was an old store across the road from her place that was the local candy store. ;D That was probably 35 years ago. :P Still have that penny too! ;)

Nice keeper, RR!!

:)

Nest time I hope Quick Draw McClaw helps you find the buff nick!

But nothing beats having them handed to you over the counter... awesome!

See ya' round the campfire...

I just had the same thing happen to me. I stopped at a convenience store for an energy drink, on the way home from work (74 miles each direction), and the clerk gave me some wheat cents in my change. I asked him if I could buy his pennies in the drawer. For $2 I got to 2 rolls of mixed 30's & 40's wheat cents.

No kidding RR...Hard to belive that was still in circulation....Glad you all ended it's journey, they both look a little tired!! HH

we always check our change and have found a couple wheaties that way , we also look everywhere on the ground when we walk anywhere, i have been known to bump into things while i walk lol my eyes are always on the ground ;D , nice find and congrats ;)

Way to go! I had that happen about a month ago, and when I ask if he had more in the drawer, he gave me all he had. It's great when it works that way.
