Until I get to actually go I’m going to start a post each week. It’s cool enough to go now but with the leaves dropping and no rain it’s pointless (pun) 😃
Today it’s a Kays made from quartzite and the base and stem are ground smooth. I did find this one earlier this year.
NW Georgia and only one to date.

I’ve found big flakes of the quartzite in that creek for years. Probably more to be found yet. Just need a winter flood

I'm calling this a Hardee. It's from Alabama and may be a little out of It's distribution range but close. It's one of the few quartz points I own.

This is the only quartzite point I’ve ever found in IL. There are rare small nodules found in the glacial till but they were seldom used. This point is about 1.5”.

I find flakes of that stuff. Kinda of a Sugar Quartz texture
