Indiana Dunes State Park? Allowed or not?

Hi all. Just moved form Wisconsin to the South side of Chicago. Starting to do my research for public places to MD. Just found out the forest preserves are off limits.

Does anyone know the official stance for the Indiana Dunes State park? I found one site that had a pdf of the dunes brouchure and it stated that MD'ing is allowed from Sept-May with written park permission. But then another site states that because the dunes is part of the national park system that it is NOT allowed at all. Any clarification would be appreciated?

Also, did a brief look in the club section but didnt see any close by. Does anyone know of any MD clubs near the Alsip area (south side chicago).

I would guess no, but I'm not sure. I know there were gangster hideouts buried deep in the sand during the early 1900s. The feds found them and pulled them out at gunpoint. Interesting to know what could be found there but I have no idea if you would get arrested.
