Looking for advice: What is the best lighting for panning indoors?

Running into 2 problems working my cons:
1) Multiple bright overhead lights cause too much reflection & lamps aren't bright enough
2) Colors are distorted, even with a mix of incandescent & compact flourescent. (So much so that it is hard to distinguish gold from chrome and other bits of shiny metal)

Interesting question... Not sure. I have used a LED head lamp and it works well, but that was at night. Indoors... Hmmm. Not sure

I used an LED flashlight when I got down that low, its on the cool side of the spectrum.
