I was out geocaching and came across this bottle. It might have been uncovered when a large number of trees in the area were uprooted by superstorm Sandy. It's thick glass with the only writing being:
KNICKERBOCKER
PURE RYE
WHISKEY
The bottle is covered with stalks of rye grains and over the top of the lettering are bales of rye. It measures about 7" tall and only has a small chip at the mouth of the bottle.
I did some searching but didn't find any pictures or relevant references to Knickerbocker at all. Anyone have any clues to its age or origin?
Many thanks!
