info on saginaw area?

Im going to be in saginaw the first 2 weeks of october for a wedding
would like to slip off and do some freshwater detecting with out worrying about gators
will the water be too cold or can I get by with a wetsuit?
as a stand by are there any ordanances banning hunting in public parks?

It was 90 today in Kalamazoo so I would think a wet suit would be enough in 2 weeks. You may not even need that. My wifes from there I would recomend you ask someone where it's safe to be.
