I've been walking into a lot of the local antique shops since we've started hunting and "collecting" as a family. We went into one for the first time today and I picked up this glass piece for a closer look. There was a sign that said CASH ONLY and all I had was a card, so we browsed and introduced ourselves to the owners (it was a man and his daughter), and told them we'd be back. I was walking out the door when the older man said "Hey I wanna give ya something... This things been sittin on the shelf for years just gettin in my way. You can have it. Bye." It was marked $18 and he just gave it to me as I was walking out the door! Anyways.. Thought I'd share the awesome story and maybe get some info/history at the same time
