Interesting Rock

OK, this is for all of you that have given me a hard time about NOT getting out in the field

I ran across this rock that has some carvings.
They didn't come out to well in my photos, so I may have to go back and take some better ones.
I believe that the date is 1955 or 1956.
This would not indicate anything old to me, but the hole (drill hole?), peaks my interest.

I think what you got there TW is some good ole 1950s graffiti.
The drill hole was prolly just left from a quarry where the rock was part of a bigger blast. But hey you never know. Personally I treat all these things with a really skeptical eye. Most times a rock is a rock, even when inscribed by some latent artist.
