Found this a 1 and a half feet down by a creek. It was in a gray/ black slurry that preserved the wood. I'm just curious if anyone knows what it was a part of.
Found part of a 1920 bottle in same dump site. That's a quarter for size reference. It weighs about 40 lbs and is roughly 6x9 inches.

My first thought is part of an old trunk lock.

Looking at the two horns and where it was found.
I think it's a cleat from an old dock for tying off boats.
