Found this iron piece at a colonial site today. I have dug a bunch of old farm tools, but have no idea what this could be? Anyone know what this is?

Maybe for a yolk? Or part of the rigging for a team of oxen or horses?

AKA whippletree or singletree. Most had rings instead of hooks, but, I guess it would depend on what you were attaching to it.
