I have been hunting an older site that has been producing a lot of Civil War bullets both dropped and fired. I found these two interesting pieces of iron in the same general area. One of them is some type of handle, but to what. The other I think may be a horse collar, but did they make them out of iron? Thanks in advance!

First item might be a horse hames top.
Not sure if they made iron ones but sure looks like one.

I've seen them chrome plated, but don't know how old they were, doubt they dated to the civil war, and might have been plated brass. But I agree with you guys, probably off a hames.
