Iron Spear head and lock?

Was on the way home from eating out last night and stoped at an auction house that was having a rummage sale out side and picked up what i think is some sort of spear head and a lock for .50cents each. (spear head ?) is 5 1/2 inchs long with a open shaft end of 7/8 x 1 3/4 inch, point is 1 3/4 solid and very sharp.Dont think it was used for a pry tool seems it would break.If it is a spear head how old and who would have made it. The lock is brass and in good working order if one had the key.Thanks for looking and any info.HH

Thanks so much Buckram. For the 50 cents i have in it, I'll look at on my shelf i think is a cool lock.

Dan, item does look like it could come off of a row seeder or somthing, dont know.Its just the shape and sharpness of it has me ?
