Hey, guys, Colonial Silver Zeus, Colonial KirkPA, and I got out to a new site today. As Kirk and CSZ already stated, the landowner was a super nice guy. He, his wife, and his son were just awesome people. We talked to them for about 30 minutes today.

Well, to make a long metal datecting story short, I got two nice buttons, a Victorian sterling ring, and an iron spearhead. The Victorian ring was 4.5 inches deep. As I usually do, I dug an iron reading today, which turned out to be spearhead-like object. If you guys have any ideas what it could be, then I'd be glad to hear them.

Thanks, everyone, for reading my post!

Hey Kyle - Leader of Colonial expeditions and finder of Early America Treasures !!

That ring is SWEEEEET ... if only the stone was still there...was'nt in the dirt from the digging ?
Yet another AWESOME find !! :notworthy:

I'm depressed :sad5: Spring has sprung , the days are sunny and mild , and the weeds are sprouting at a wicked fast pace and the winged -biting-pestering bugs are swarming for attacks and I'm stuck working missing out on prime hunting conditions. :BangHead:

Its just wrong !

You can bet your digging shovel come Thursday I will be out and ground balancing at the crack of dawn !!

Possibly a colonial bayonet piece??

Is there some sort of socket on the end of the iron spear point or is it just flat? If it's flat it may actually be a tine from a muck fork type tool. I'm not sure I'm using the right terminology but it's that tool that has a handle like a short shovel and has 3 or 4 flat, wide tines. You know what I mean....

The bottom portion is curved inward like something was attached there at one time. The point is quite sharp.

Thanks,

Kyle

Hey Kyle.
Love that ring Dude. What a cool find. Congrats on the buttons too. Those suckers always fool me. I see a round green disc in the hole hoping for a coin, but mine always turn up as buttons or shotgun shell heads. :'(
Way to go.

Nice finds ZBoy

um broken knife blade :icon_scratch: ???

I like the ring Kyle. I have yet to find a ring at a colonial site. Found plenty at playground/parks and the like but never a colonial ring. Nice find.

Buttons look cool as does the ring. :)

BTW - The Stagecoach stop might have to wait another year. Gas prices make the drive about $40. Also the weeds are growing exponentially now...

Brother,

You detected like a pro yesterday! On every one of your sweeps, I thought of the one and only John Walter. :D

Go find a 4-Reales now! :tongue3: :D

Snicket :D :D

Nice finds there. Hope you find out what that iron object is

Cheers!
