I found this in a very old part of Salibury, NC while hunting for civil war relics along Grant's Creek. It's shaped like a ring with a flat inner part and a rounded outer part. There does appear to be any details that I can find. It fits very tight on my pinky finger and I have average size hands. It appears to be made of copper or brass (I can't tell the difference yet between the two lol). I'm wondering if this is a ring or possible a part off something. Again it's not squared but flat on the inner and rounded on the outside like a ring. Any help would be appreciated, my treasure hunting friends.

All things are possible through God who strengthens me.

Sure looks like a ring.
I've seen naval jelly and very light brushing used to pull some of the corrsion off and maybe see some plating.

Good find and a ring is a ring...

I would say ring. Could have been plated at one time, or my guess that it could have been a slave Ring.

I doubt slave ring, but probably the average post civil war wedding ring of the day. Hard times!
